Lynn Fitzgerald
is a professor of English for the Chicago City Colleges and a published poet, whose awards include: a Community Arts Assistance Award from the city of Chicago for the publication of a book of poems, entitled, Closer to the Earth, published by Moon Journal Press, three National Endowment for the Humanities Awards, two Oppenheimer Awards, a Frye Foundation Award, and The Joanne Hirschfeld Award for her poem, The Stendhal Syndrome. She was named Poet in Residence for the Chicago Public Library. Her poems have been published in After Hours Press, Word Salad, Calliope, The English Journal, the Chicago Area Writing Project, Urban Nation, WBEZ Dial-a-Poem, Outrider Press, Chicago Poetry Anthology, Amused, The Somerville Times, The Bagel Bards, among others. She reads and performs her work regularly. She is working on a new manuscript of poems to be published this year.
