Jim Wilkerson
Jim is a lifelong resident of Decatur, Illinois. In his poetry he likes to trigger emotion, involve the senses, and capture moments in time. He published a book of poetry about his time as a student at Millikin University. He also has works published in Collage, The Decaturian, Folio, TKE Today, More Big Thoughts, Treasured Poems of America, and Quill & Parchment. He won first place in the 2023 Winnetka Public Library Poetry Contest. He is a member of the Illinois State Poetry Society, the Academy of American Poets, and a founding member of Decatur Area Poets – a local poetry group that meets monthly at the Decatur Library.
