The North Suburban Chapter pretty much covers north of Chicago from Lake Michigan to the east and the Mississippi in the west. We meet on Zoom on the second Sunday of the odd months (except May, when we meet on the third Sunday). We bond over our poetry and any help our poems may need. The Champaign Chapter is nestled in the middle of a very vibrant poetic community within and surrounding the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. This Chapter is how it all began in 1991. Now under the leadership of our “rock star” Wilda Morris, this Chapter meets the first Sunday of even months as a hybrid. To get more information, email Wilda at wem@ameritech.net.

Tom Moran leads these very diverse and exciting poets. They are currently meeting at the Westmont Library, 428 N. Cass, Westmont, IL 60559. Westmont meetings are now held the second Saturday of alternating months. You can inquire about their meetings by emailing Tom at tgm1958@sbcglobal.net.

Our Haiku Chapter is also a Chapter of the International (or American) Haiku Society. The only Chapter in our state dedicated to a poetic form, this chapter meets on Zoom on the third Sunday of the even months. The Pontiac Chapter was started in 2009 by area residents, who wanted to come together with a shared love of poetry. During Covid we started meeting on Zoom, and then after Covid we had new members, and not all of us lived in Pontiac. So, we’ve been meeting on Zoom ever since.
